Accessibility Statement

Adult Day Genie wants every center director, caregiver, family member, and older adult to be able to use this website, including people who rely on assistive technology.

This statement applies to adultdaygenie.com, including its product pages, state guides, articles, help center, and adult day care directory. It is published by Prasar Health LLC, doing business as Adult Day Genie (“Adult Day Genie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Our commitment

Many of the people who use adult day services, and the families and caregivers who look for them, are older adults or people with disabilities. We want this website to work for them: with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, with magnification or large text, with reduced motion, and on a small phone screen. Accessibility is part of how we design, build, and review every page, not a separate add-on.

2. Conformance target

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). As of the date of this statement, we believe the website substantially meets that standard, with the exceptions described under Known limitations. We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget; fixes are made in the site’s own code.

3. Measures we take

  • A “Skip to main content” link, consistent page landmarks, one main heading per page, and headings in a logical order.
  • Every interactive element works with a keyboard, shows a clearly visible focus outline, and stays clear of the sticky site header when it receives focus.
  • Menus report whether they are open, close with the Escape key, and return focus to the button that opened them.
  • Text and interface colors are checked against WCAG contrast ratios, and an automated contrast regression test covers key pages.
  • Form fields have visible labels, required fields are identified in text as well as by an asterisk, and error and status messages are announced to screen readers.
  • Data tables use proper header cells, and wide tables can be scrolled with the keyboard.
  • Images carry text alternatives, and decorative images and icons are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen and support browser zoom up to 200 percent without loss of content.
  • When your device is set to reduce motion, scroll-driven effects and animations are turned off and all content appears in its final, static form.
  • Automated accessibility testing (axe-core) on representative pages at desktop and mobile sizes, plus manual keyboard and structure checks.

4. Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party services. The demo booking scheduler (hosted on bookings.prasargroup.com), the Cloudflare Turnstile spam check on our forms, app store pages, and social media sites are provided by other companies. We choose providers with accessibility in mind but do not control their code. If one of them blocks you, contact us and we will help by phone or email instead.
  • Directory listing data. Facility names, addresses, and other details in the adult day care directory come from the public CMS NPI registry. Some entries use abbreviations or all-capital letters as filed, which some screen readers may read letter by letter.
  • Articles and older content. We review new articles before publishing, but older articles and help pages are reviewed on a rolling basis and may still contain issues we have not found.

This statement covers the public website. If you use the Adult Day Genie web application or kiosk app and run into an accessibility barrier there, please report it the same way.

5. Compatibility

The website is built with standard HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA and is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox) and with the screen readers and zoom tools built into Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Pages are prerendered, so their text content is available even before scripts load.

6. Report a barrier or request help

If you have trouble using any part of this website, or you need information in a different format, please tell us. We will work with you to provide the information or service you need.

It helps to include the web address of the page, a short description of the problem, and the browser and any assistive technology you were using, but none of that is required. We will respond within 2 business days and will let you know how and when we plan to address the issue.

7. How we assess this site

Adult Day Genie assesses the accessibility of this website through self-evaluation: automated testing with axe-core across representative pages and screen sizes, manual keyboard and screen structure review, and an automated color-contrast regression test. We review this statement at least once a year and when we make significant changes to the site.
